Rural Micro Capital Grant Scheme  2017

This Scheme is funded under the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Tackling Rural Poverty and Social Isolation Programme.

Micro Capital grants of between £200 and £1,500 are available to rural community-led, voluntary organisations for projects tackling issues of local poverty and / or social isolation. 

The total project cost must not exceed £3,000

Projects must clearly address an issue of rural poverty and / or social isolation and applicants must provide a minimum of 15% match funding.

The scheme is being delivered by the Rural Support Networks on behalf of DAERA. 

The Rural Micro Capital Grant Scheme 2017 has been designed to:

  • Help rural community-led, voluntary groups to address local issues of access poverty, financial poverty and social isolation; and
  • Improve the lives of rural communities, and in particular the wellbeing of isolated individuals.

Projects must focus on one of the following three themes:

  •   Modernisation  (of premises / assets)
  •   Information Communication Technology (ICT)
  •   Health and Wellbeing

The Skills Focus Programme Subsidised Training for Business

South West College can provide bespoke training for staff in your business leading to a recognised qualification. The Skills Focus Programme has been designed to increase the skill level of the existing workforce and covers 75% of the costs of training. 

South West College can work with you to design, build and deliver a tailored training plan with provision in a wide range of sectors including:

  • Engineering (Welding including coded, Autocad, Solidworks, Lean Manufacturing, Hydraulics);
  • Tourism & Hospitality (Supervising Food Safety, Customer Service, Wines & Spirits, Food Hygiene);
  • Health & Social Care (Childcare, Social Care);
  • Business and IT (Team Leading, Supervisor Training, Coaching & Mentoring; E-marketing, Microsoft);
  • Motor Vehicle (Accident Repair, Diagnostics);
  • Leisure (Fitness Instructing).

Funding is available to cover all accredited training courses at Level2 and above.

What could a £5,000 Innovation Voucher do for your business?

Aimed at companies with under 10 employees who want to grow their business by identifying new customers and markets - up to £5000 in consultancy support is now available.

InterTradeIreland is now actively looking for companies. The programme is 100% funded by InterTradeIreland and the application process is simple.
