Food Bank Appeal

Mid Ulster District Council is supporting a food bank appeal this December to help those less fortunate in the area in the run-up to Christmas.

The Council is working with a number of local charities and organisations – including SVP, Antioch Food Bank, The Link Maghera and the Magherafelt Food Bank (Trussell Trust) – to try and make Chrsitmas a special time for everyone in the district.

Two food bank events are taking place as part of the appeal. Everyone is encouraged to bring their donations either or both of the events below:

The Burnavon, Cookstown           The Bridewell, Magherafelt
Thursday 8th December               Friday 9th December
10am - 1pm                                       10am - 1pm

[email protected]          [email protected]

                                                           [email protected]

Don't forget that the Vineyard Church, Dungannon operates a food bank drop in morning every Thursday from 10.30am - 1pm. For more information contact [email protected]

It's vital that as many people as possible support the appeal and donate at one of the events. Recent statistics showed that 1 in 5 people are now living below the poverty line in the UK.

You can help make a difference to the lives of children, families, older people and some of the most vulnerable people in the community by simply donating an item from your weekly shop.
