A new power, which came into being when new councils were formed in April 2015, Community Planning is about the public, voluntary and community sector working together to design and deliver services which make a real difference to the lives of local people.
Mid Ulster now has a draft Community Plan which sets out a vision for our place as
'a welcoming place where our people are content, healthy and safe; educated and skilled; where our economy is thriving; our environment and heritage are sustained; and where our public services excel'.
The Community Plan for Mid Ulster has identified 15 outcomes encompassed in 5 themes:
- Economic growth
- Education and skills
- Health and well-being
- Vibrant and safe communities.
The proposed outcomes impact on all areas of life, from increasing access to affordable housing and caring for those who are most vulnerable, to creating vibrant towns and villages, safer communities and better skilled and qualified people. Attached to these outcomes are a substantial set of actions which all the Community Planning Partners will work to deliver over the next 10 years.
You can view and download a copy of the Community Plan in the 'related documents' below.
Over the remainder of 2017, all Partners will contribute to the development of Delivery Plans for each of the themes. These will be uploaded once they are complete. Partners will identify the types of projects, programmes and initiatives they intend to deliver to achieve the desired outcomes for the people of Mid Ulster. No one Partner can deliver these actions or achieve these ambitious outcomes for Mid Ulster on their own. Instead, it will be the responsibility of all the Community Planning Partners, working together.
