The Council uses a committee system in its decision-making process, where a series of individual committees have responsibility for considering different areas of work or particular issues.
Committees themselves do not make decisions. They recommend a course of action to full meetings of the Council which take place once a month. The Council can then choose to adopt recommendations or to change them.
The Council has 5 committees. They generally meet every month. They are:

Meetings of the Council and its Committees are open to the public, with the exception of those times when sensitive or confidential issues need to be discussed.
