Picnic in the Park returned with a bang on Bank Holiday Monday with over 2,500 people attending the free family fun day!
The highlight of the event, which took place at Dungannon Park from 12pm – 5pm, was a live World Record attempt - ‘Most Balloon Dogs Created Behind the Back in 1 Minute' by balloon modelling extraordinaire and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Ryan Tracey. Thankfully Ryan was successful in his second attempt creating a record breaking 11 dogs behind his back beating his own record of 5. It certainly made for some exciting, tense and nail-biting viewing for the audience!
Other activities at the free fun day organised by Mid Ulster District Council included: live music from Limavady Big Band and the Untouchables, African drumming workshops, arts and crafts, trailer trampolines, inflatable infinity tower, krazy karts, climbing tower, Go Fly your kite workshop, face painting, balloon modelling, teddy bear’s picnic dance party, puppet shows, magic shows and much more.
And all this could be enjoyed while guests tucked into their picnics at the picturesque location overlooking the water. Food was also available on site for those who had opted not to bring their own picnic.
The event, which marks the end of the summer holidays, certainly managed to banish those back-to-school blues- even just for one day!
