100 local businesses from all sectors across Mid Ulster, attended a free business workshop that explored how to market their business more effectively from their mobile.
The ‘Marketing Your Business From Your Mobile’ workshop, was organised by Mid Ulster District Council, and took place in the Burnavon, Cookstown this week. Due to the high demand an additional session was also held in the afternoon to accommodate all businesses.
The key focus of this workshop was to support businesses and provide practical advice on digital marketing and e-commerce that would effectively enhance and develop their businesses. The workshops were facilitated by Daryl Conway, We Are Digital along with digital experts Emma Gribben Digital by Emma, Niamh Taylor Digital 24 Ltd and Peter McNicholl Flying on Social Media.
Topics covered included: Producing images and video on your mobile, selling on your mobile, and creating content from your mobile.
The Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Trevor Wilson said, “I was delighted to see that the demand for the ‘Marketing Your Business From Your Mobile’ workshop was so high that we had to hold an additional session. This emphasises just how important and beneficial events like this are to local businesses.
“The event was the first in a series of business events organised by the Council that will focus on digital marketing with the next event taking place on the 7th March at The Terrace Hotel, Magherafelt. I would urge any businesses interested to register quickly as spaces will book out soon.”
Those who attended the event found it extremely worthwhile. One delegate said “I found it interesting and informative and I will hopefully be able to make it progress in the business world.” Another said the workshop “has given me the confidence I need to use social media more effectively for us.”
Daryl Conway added, “I was delighted to host today’s successful event and to fulfil our promise that each business attending would learn at least one new app that will help grow and develop their business.”
