Over 40 businesses from a range of sectors across Mid Ulster recently availed of the opportunity to attend a free business seminar that explored how they should use their website to stimulate online growth for their business.
The ‘Achieving Online Growth through Your Website’ seminar was funded by Mid Ulster District Council, delivered by 42Digital and took place in the Burnavon, Cookstown on 4 October. The key focus of this event was to support businesses and provide hints and tips on how businesses could drive growth through increasing traffic to their website.
The seminar started with an informal Q&A session, enabling business to pose their questions to an expert panel and before taking part in two interactive workshops. The workshops were facilitated by digital experts Barry Adams, Digital Polemic and Richard McKnight, Groundswell Ecommerce and Digital Consultancy, who looked at the fundamentals of search engine optimisation and the essential elements of an effective website.
The Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Kim Ashton commented, “I was delighted to see the strong demand for the ‘Achieving Online Growth through Your Website’ seminar. This reinforces just how important and beneficial events like this are to our local businesses.
“The event was the first in a series of business seminars funded by the Council that will focus on digital marketing, with the next event taking place on 25 October at Ranfurly House, Dungannon. I would urge any businesses interested to register as now as spaces will book out quickly.”
Those who attended the event found it extremely worthwhile. One delegate commented, “Instead of spending a lot of money on trade shows, for my business it’s now going to be all about using SEO and techniques I heard about today to get my website into shape!”.”
Another said the event “covered extensive information from a panel of speakers who clearly excel in their field”.
Daryl Conway from 42 Digital added, “We are delighted with how today’s workshop went and the feedback has been great; we hope we fulfilled our promise that each business attending would gain an insight into how to exploit digital technologies to increase traffic to their website.”
