Mid Ulster will be bursting with great events to sink your fangs into this Halloween, with a spooktactular programme of fun and frolics for all the family to enjoy.
On Saturday 29 October 2016 there’ll be ghostly goings-on at Mid Ulster District Council’s annual ‘Halloween Hooley’ held in Meadowbank Sports Arena, Magherafelt from 2pm – 5pm. The ever popular children’s event will be bustling with all things spooky to help keep your little monsters entertained. Get ready to enjoy a family performance by Babcock & Bobbins, burn off some wicked energy on the inflatables, participate in Halloween themed arts and crafts, take part in a fancy dress competition, take delight in the puppet shows, face-painting and lots, lots more.
To enrol for the fancy dress competition complete a registration form available from www.midulstercouncil.org/halloween and bring it along on the day. Registration for the fancy dress competition closes at 3.15pm and remember there may be a chill in the air so bring your coats. Fancy dress categories include: scariest costume, most original/handmade costume and keeping it child friendly we also have a category for the best non-scary costume.
To make your Halloween celebrations even more haunting come along to St Patrick’s College playing fields, O’Hara Road, Maghera on Monday 31 October at 7.30pm for the annual Maghera Fireworks Spectacular. Join Mid Ulster District Council as the skies explode into a fantastic fanfare of colour and lights at the annual fireworks display. Admission is free to this event and car parking will be available at Maghera Leisure Centre and St Patrick’s College, located on the Coleraine Road.
