Residents of Mid Ulster could be in with a chance of winning a Samsung Tablet when they download the Council’s FREE Bin-ovation app.
Available free on smart phones and tablets, the new app provides clarity on how to treat thousands of items of household waste, with information on everything from what can go into blue, brown and black bins to a handy bin collection day reminder service which residents can set up to suit their own collection schedule.
Using the latest App technology, residents can also get GPS directions to their nearest recycling centre, find opening times, including any changes, with all information tailored to the Mid Ulster region.
There is no limit to the number of devices the app can be downloaded to.
To be entered into the draw to win the Tablet, simply download the app, go to ‘Extras’, select ‘Contact Council’ and click on ‘Enter me in the draw’ to submit your contact details (email address or telephone number).
Existing users can also enter the draw by following the same instructions.
Speaking about the ‘Bin-Ovation’ app and free draw, Deputy Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Sharon McAleer, said:
“The Bin-ovation app is a fantastic resource in keeping residents informed and up-to-date on all key recycling and bin collection information and you get it straight to your phone or tablet, making it literally available at your fingertips.
“I would urge everyone to download this valuable tool and you never know, there may even be a free Tablet in it for you!”
Emphasising that the app will evolve and also has the capacity to provide real-time information, Councillor Cuthbertson, Chair of the Council’s Environment Committee, said:
“The Bin-ovation app can be utilised in so many ways – whether it’s to communicate changes to bin collections, updates on recycling, news and events or even just to find out which bin to put out on which day! It is an invaluable tool for keeping waste and recycling issues to the fore and I would encourage everyone to download it to their smartphones or tablets today and submit their details to enter the draw for a free Tablet.”
On announcing the competition, Bin-ovation creator Michael Brady commented, “Bin-ovation are delighted to continue working with Mid Ulster District Council as a key part of their Waste Management communication strategy. The Bin-ovation App has over 11,000 users in Northern Ireland and is live in 6 NI super councils and we look forward to more householders downloading the App and entering this competition.”
The competition will run until 31 July 2016 so make sure you don’t miss out and download the app today!
