A series of free local wildlife events will commence from the beginning of September and people of all ages and abilities are invited to take part!
Organised by Mid Ulster District Council as part of its biodiversity programme, the informative sessions will encourage local people to come together and learn more about wildlife living in the local area.
The first event to take place is a ‘Bat Night’ at The Pavillion, Dungannon Park on Friday 9th September at 8pm. Loocal expert Rachel Bain will be on hand to answer questions, discuss common myths and offer information about the species including conservation issues and what local action can be taken to help bats. Weather permitting, attendees will go outdoors and monitor bats using specialist equipment so outdoor clothing and hand torches would be advisable.
The sessions are fun, interesting and educational, and information gathered will help to monitor the ecological system at Dungannon Park.
People are welcome to take part, but bookings are essential. Please contact Mark Edgar, Biodiversity Officer, Mid Ulster District Council. Tel: 03000 132132 or e-mail: [email protected]
