Business clinics are to be held this month for those who plan to avail of the new funding programme for shop improvements from Mid Ulster District Council.
Five clinics will be held in the five towns which are part of the scheme - Coalisland, Cookstown, Dungannon, Maghera and Magherafelt - to raise awareness of how the scheme works, as well as the eligibility criteria.
Chair of the Council’s Development Committee, Councillor Frances Burton, is encouraging commercial property owners and tenants to attend:
“We are offering 50% of the cost of works, up to a maximum of £10,000 per property, to fund internal areas which are visible to the public, as well as improvements to building frontages.
“The clinics provide an informal opportunity for business owners and tenants to discuss their plans for shop improvements with council staff and the scheme consultants and to establish how the potential funding can help them achieve their goals.
“While individual premises benefit, collectively the result will be core shopping areas with a fresh look, feel and appeal”.
The business clinics take place on:
- Monday 26 October 2015, The Burnavon, Cookstown, 10am - 12noon
- Monday 26 October 2015, The Bridewell, Magherafelt, 6pm - 8pm
- Wednesday 28 October 2015, Walsh's Hotel, Maghera, 6pm - 8pm
- Thursday 29 October 2015, Cornmill Heritage Centre, Coalisland, 12noon - 2pm
- Thursday 29 October 2015, Ranfurly House, Dungannon, 6pm - 8pm
The scheme closes at 4pm on Friday 13th November 2015.
