Open Invitation To Information Sessions Ahead Of Dungannon Public Realm Scheme Start

09 October 2015

Members of the public are being invited to find out more about the multi-million pound public realm scheme in Dungannon next week.

Ahead of the start of works which will bring new paving, lighting, street furniture, signage and planting to Scotch Street, Scotch Street Centre, Georges Street, William Street, Ann Street, Thomas Street, Perry Street and Northland Row in the town centre, local people, businesses and visitors can call into two open sessions to discover more about the extent of the scheme.

Funded through the Department for Social Development (DSD) and Mid Ulster District Council, the contractor Lagan Construction Group, is due on site from 11th November.

Chair of the Council, Councillor Linda Dillon welcomed progress on delivering the second phase of public realm works in Dungannon:

“Local people, particularly our local traders, naturally have a great deal of interest in this second phase of improvements to the town centre and one of our priorities has been to keep everyone informed at every stage.

“These information sessions are another method of engaging with residents and businesses to help ensure that there is an understanding of how the programme of work will be carried out, as well as to give people an opportunity to talk to the staff who will be responsible for delivering the project on the ground.

“We’re happy, of course, to meet and talk to anyone at other times, both in advance of the work starting and as it progresses”.

The open information sessions take place on:

  • Thursday 22nd October, 6.00 - 8.00pm, The Square Box, Ranfurly House Arts & Visitor Centre.
  • Friday 23rd October, 12noon - 2.00pm, The Square Box, Ranfurly House Arts & Visitor Centre.

The Lagan Construction Group has established a site office at Ann Street, Dungannon and the 24hr site contact number is 028 9055 7869 (during construction period). Queries can also be emailed to [email protected].

Details about the works can be found here.
