Recycling Magic for local Primary Schools

30 November 2016

Eight hundred and sixty Key Stage 2 pupils from 26 Primary Schools across the Mid Ulster district took part in three Recycling Magic events organised by the Council.

Magical Mervyn from Kando Arts performed Recycling Magic at three council facilities - Ranfurly House, Dungannon, Seamus Heaney HomePlace, Bellaghy and Cookstown Leisure Centre.

Recycling Magic is a fun educational programme that promotes caring for the environment by recycling and anti-littering. It approaches environmental responsibility in a fun way covering the most important issues such as global warming, and air and water pollution.

As part of the event Mervyn gets help from a few friends such as ‘Billy the bird’ a hilarious side-kick with an important message and his ‘Rubbish Friend’ a puppet made completely out of recyclable materials.

This educational show was offered free of charge as part of Mid Ulster Councils ongoing recycling education programme.

For more information on Recycling Education within the Mid Ulster Area and how to avail of the service please contact [email protected].
