The contractor responsible for the recent refurbishment at the Ritz Multiplex Cinema, Cookstown was named ‘highly commended’ in the Commercial Project Category at the recent Northern Ireland Master Building Awards for the improvement work carried out to the building.
Bill Eastwood Contracts, Cookstown completed the refurbishment and Mid Ulster District Council contributed to the cost of the work through its Town Centre Shop Improvement Scheme. The grant provided under the scheme, covered 50% of eligible costs up to the value of £10,000 for external and internal improvements, which included extensive work to the front of the building and the reception area.
The Chair of Mid Ulster District Council has congratulated Mr Eastwood and praised the Council scheme, “I congratulate Bill Eastwood Contracts on the company’s recent award and wish Columba continued success with his business. The Council’s Town Centre Shop Improvement Scheme was extremely successful and provided funding to more than 100 town centre properties across Mid Ulster to enhance their premises internally and externally.”
Cinema Owner Columba Eastwood added, “We are delighted with the finished works to the Cinema which includes a complete new frontage to the property, and internal works including new VIP area and Kids Play Zone. The exceptional quality of Bill’s workmanship is evident in the completed project and has been recognised through NI Master Builder Awards. The funding secured under the Mid Ulster Town Centre Shop Improvement Scheme was fundamental in assisting with the works.”
