Temporary changes to traffic flow in Dungannon will begin next week (13 June) as part of the town’s multi-million pound public realm scheme.
Work has already commenced this week (6 June) on Thomas Street with two way traffic-flow remaining until wider works commence on Monday, 13 June.
The changes are required to allow contractors to complete work to Thomas Street and mean that for approximately 5 weeks, traffic will be one-way only from Market Square via Thomas Street, with vehicles able to exit the Square as normal.
Drivers of Heavy Goods Vehicles wishing to access Market Square via Thomas Street will be diverted via Circular Road, Northland Row, Perry Street and Church Street, while light vehicles will be diverted via Greers Road and Irish Street and buses will be diverted via Greers Road only.
Funded by the Department for Social Development (DSD) and Mid Ulster District Council, the second phase of the town’s public realm scheme, will bring improvements to paving, lighting, street furniture, signage and planting in Scotch Street, Scotch Street Centre, Georges Street, William Street, Ann Street, Thomas Street, Perry Street and Northland Row.
The scheme contractors are Lagan Construction Group which has established a site office at Ann Street, Dungannon and the 24hr site contact number is 028 9055 7869 (during the construction period). Queries can also be emailed to [email protected].
