The council is focused on the provision of quality services throughout the Mid Ulster District Council area by establishing arrangements which support continuous improvement in everything that it does.

This is in line with the requirements of Part 12 of the Local Government (Northern Ireland) Act 2014 which indicate that the Council’s 'improvement objectives' must relate to one of the following:

Strategic Effectiveness Fairness Efficiency  
Service Quality Sustainability Innovation  
Service Availability      

Performance and continuous improvement arrangements contribute towards the delivery of quality services and hence work towards the delivery of its vision, values and corporate priorities contained in the Corporate Plan. 

Performance Objectives Consultation 2017-2018 & 2018-2019

The Council is currently consulting on its draft 2017-18 and 2018-2019 Corporate Performance Improvement Objectives.

We want to deliver the best possible services to everyone who uses them. To do this we have developed four Improvement Objectives for 2017-18 and 2018-19. We propose to set them for two years and review them annually.

Improvement Objectives 2016-2017  

The Council has set itself a Corporate Improvement Plan for 2016-2017 to support continuous improvement in everything it does through in line with the Local Government Act (NI) 2014. The Council has set itself 3 Improvement Objectives as detailed within the Plan around which improvement activity will focus throughout the year. 

Objective 1          Consolidating and improving the delivery of services
Objective 2 Improving our management of waste
Objective 3 Promote and assist in the growth of the economy
