Carleton Trails

A series of new literary trails inspired by the 19th century author, William Carleton, have been launched in Clogher.

Developed by the  Council, the way-marked trail extends over 48kms in the County Tyrone’s Clogher Valley, representing an investment of £20K and offering walkers a choice of 3 routes to explore the landscape, history and architecture of the area which was home to William Carleton (1794 – 1869) in the early part of his life and inspired much of his work.

The trails, which start and end at Clogher Primary School, all have information panels at intervals to provide historical context and are suitable for the most seasoned of walkers who aim to complete the entire trail or for those who prefer to meander in shorter staged.

For more information on the trails, and to view a map open the leaflet in the Related Documents below.
