Over the past year, students of HND Textiles at North West Regional College in Limavady have been working on an assignment where they create a design brief for Seamus Heaney HomePlace inspired by his poetry. Using the life and work of Seamus Heaney to invite curiosity into both process and concept, the work produced considers HomePlace in the context of its surroundings and what it means to the contemporary Textile student.
The stunning work of eight talented students, featuring a range of textile pieces using print, weave and embroidery, will be on display in the Glanmore Room at Seamus Heaney HomePlace to showcase the skill, creativity and talent of these students and to emphasise the continuing power of Seamus Heaney’s poetry to excite and inspire new generations of artists.
Please call the centre prior to your visit as there is limited access on certain days.
