Market Square Dungannon: Improvement Scheme
The £300K improvement works to Dungannon’s Market Square have been completed on schedule in advance of the town’s Christmas celebrations.
The improvement scheme has been coordinated by the Council, which, while not responsible for traffic management or roads issues, to resolve problems which arose from the first phase of a public realm scheme in the town in 2012.
Pedestrians now have new and improved access across and around the Square, with improvements to traffic signals and alterations to junctions making driving into and out of the Square much smoother.
The Square’s car park has also benefited from wider parking bays for ease of customer parking, the addition of a footpath and additional car parking in the square itself when it is not hosting events.
