A fantastic weekend was had in Magherafelt with the return of the Tafelta Festival on Friday and Saturday (21 & 22 June)!
The town centre was lit up with bright colours and sunshine, where lots of families, children and adults enjoyed the free workshops on offer over the two days including, Reading and Illustration, Lego Animation and a fantastic Wonderland Tea Party.
Chalk art proved very popular with children at the civic space, as well as face painting and balloon modelling; and for the adults, live music and entertainment was enjoyed in the local bars and restaurants, as well as a shoppers delight at the Maker's Market in the Bridewell.
Attending the festival, the Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Martin Kearney said: “It’s fantastic to see Magherafelt town centre come to life, with young families, children and adults enjoying everything on offer from workshops to live entertainment, as we celebrate ‘words: written, spoken and drawn’.
Local businesses, bars and restaurants enjoyed the fun and hosted many of the workshops, tea parties, bookstalls and live music throughout the weekend.
A fun filled weekend was had by all who attended this year’s Tafelta Festival.
