Drivers ignoring a temporary one-way system in Dungannon are putting lives in danger, according to the PSNI.
Several near-misses have occurred in the last weeks after drivers refused to follow diversions in the town’s Lower Perry Street which has been closed for 4 weeks and with a one way system brought into operation to facilitate public realm works.
The police will now be taking enforcement action against motorists who abuse the system and are warning drivers to obey the rules or receive a fixed penalty notice.
The multi-million pound public realm scheme is intended to enhance the town centre and is being funded by Mid Ulster District Council and the Department for Social Development (DSD).
