The next stage of the multi-million pound public realm scheme in Cookstown gets underway this week.
Work will be continuing in the William Street East, Coagh Street South, Orritor Street South and Fairhill Road North areas of the town centre which is benefitting from investment in improved paving and lighting, new street furniture, signage and planting.
The scheme is being undertaken by FP McCann and funded by the Department for Social Development (DSD) and Mid Ulster District Council.
Commenting on the beginning of works in 2016, Chair of the Council, Councillor Linda Dillon, said:
“The work in Cookstown has been progressing extremely well and access to the town centre has been maintained, something which was particularly important over the busy Christmas trading period.
“Now we can look forward to seeing the next stages of the work get underway and to the completion of the scheme on target this summer.”
The contractor, FP McCann, has established a site office at 47a James Street (above Boots) and the 24hr site contact number is 028 7954 9090 (option 4). Queries can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org and details about the works can be found here.
