Celebrate Easter this year in a ‘fairy’ egg-citing manner at the Walled Garden, Maghera!
Families are being invited to follow the fairy trail to the newly installed miniature fairy door in the recently restored garden, while taking in the sights and sounds of spring, on Easter Monday, 28 March, from 1pm – 4pm.
Other family activities on offer include a garden quiz, planting seeds in the green house and storytelling from the Sally Sods Trio, helping to ensure a fun – free – family afternoon.
Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Linda Dillon, is looking forward to the event. She said:
“This will be the garden’s first event of 2016, officially kick-starting the spring season for what is a really special outdoor space in Mid Ulster. This is a day the whole family can enjoy and will hopefully be the beginning of a busy spring and summer season for the garden.”
Other egg-cellent Easter activities taking place in Magherafelt include the Banyon Theatre Company’s production of Gruff on Saturday, 26 March, at the Bridewell, Magherafelt at 11am.
This much-loved fairy tale is brought to life with a pinch of Banyon magic and includes puppetry, storytelling and original music.
Suitable for ages 3 years and over, tickets cost £2 and places are limited and must be booked in advance by contacting the Bridewell on 028 7963 1510.
After the performance, there’s the opportunity to experience a fantastic family fun day at Meadowlane Shopping Centre, from 1pm -4pm.
Admission is free and there will be something to suit all ages with entertainment, face-painting, balloon-modelling, the Easter bunny, large games, and Easter arts and crafts activities taking place during the afternoon.
