Over 35 individuals from Bellaghy businesses have completed the WorldHost Ambassador training programme, in advance of Seamus Heaney HomePlace opening later this year.
The Ambassador programme, facilitated by Mid Ulster District Council and funded by Tourism Northern Ireland, equips participants with the resources and skills to welcome, interact and assist visitors as representatives of Northern Ireland.
Those who took part and completed the programme received the WorldHost Ambassador certificate at a celebratory event in Bellaghy Bawn last week.
The WorldHost training programme was delivered by Siofra O’Reilly from SORT training.
Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Cáthal Mallaghan commented, “With the opening of Seamus Heaney HomePlace in a few months’ time, it is essential that we are helping local businesses prepare for the increased number of visitors expected in Bellaghy.
“The WorldHost Ambassador programme is the perfect tool for doing so and I would like to thank the local businesses for taking part.”
