Discover a magical mix of Fairies and Elves in Maghera Walled Garden!

01 August 2017

Discover the magic in Maghera Walled Garden this summer as a spellbinding collection of fairies and elves take over and turn it into an enchanted garden!

Join us on Saturday 26 August from 12-4pm for a FREE Family Fun Day in Maghera Walled Garden which will leave you wanting to become a real life fairy or elf.

Whirl through the garden to find all the tiny fairies and elves hidden in the pathways in their homemade wooden houses. Meet Strawberry the Summer Fairy on her HUGE magical throne, as she recites traditional tales underneath the Whispering Story Tree.  Make your own fairy wand or elf hat with one of our own fairies or elves.

The Garden will be packed full of fun activities for your children to immerse themselves in, including storytelling, face painting, balloon modelling, a games area, craft making (including fairy wand and elf hat making), and plant your own fairy and elf garden- to name a few!

As if this wasn’t enough there will also be some sweet treats to keep the big kids happy! The day promises to be one not to be missed with events to keep the whole family entertained.

Speaking about the event at the Walled Garden, Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Kim Ashton, said: “We are extremely fortunate to have such a beautiful and breath-taking facility located in our council area and I am delighted to see the Walled Garden being used to host such fun, family oriented events. The day promises to be one not to be missed with activities to keep the whole family entertained.”

This event takes place on Saturday 26 August 2017 from 12 noon to 4pm and is free of charge for all the family. A FREE Park and Ride facility will also be operating from the Maghera High School site.
