Mid Ulster District Council has opened a major development opportunity in Dungannon town centre.
The Council is releasing a 4.12 acre site on Ann Street, Dungannon for development.
Long considered a ‘unique gateway site’ in the town centre due to its links to the premier retail core Market Square and Scotch Street via Irish Street, the land has been vacant for a number of years.
The Ann Street site, which is bounded by Greers Road to the east and Ann Street to the south, provides an exciting opportunity to deliver a high quality, imaginative and sustainable mixed use development, ideally with retail, commercial, office, leisure and residential uses.
Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Trevor Wilson commented on the development opportunity, “The Ann Street site has been long regarded as Dungannon’s flagship opportunity site and we would hope that future construction on the land will be a catalyst for further development activity in the area.
“The decision to dispose of the site by way of Development Brief is being driven by the need to ensure that a quality, urban regeneration scheme, that will return this vacant opportunity site to a viable and sustainable economic use, is delivered.”
Lloyd Hannigan of Lisney, the selling agent appointed, added, “The property represents a comprehensive redevelopment/regeneration opportunity, the scale of which is uncommon in a town’s commercial core.
“Proposals are being sought for a mixed use, ideally retail led scheme which we envisage will appeal to a wide range of developers, given that we have already dealt with a number of unsolicited expressions of interest prior to the commencement of marketing.”
Development proposals for the site are being invited now and must be submitted by 12 noon on Friday 12th May 2017.
