The work categories required for the new £4M Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Learning and Development Centre at Desertcreat have been revealed.
The categories required for phase 1 works are: bricklayers, joiners, scaffolders, black top / roads construction, fencing, metalwork, steel / metal doors, partitions, ceilings, soft floors, screeders, painters and decorators, fitted furniture and tiling.
Interested businesses have the opportunity at a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event on Monday 25 June 2018 from 12noon to 7pm in the Glenavon Hotel, Cookstown to explore how they can tap into the £4M contract to build the new centre.
Henry Bros, the company awarded the contract for the centre which includes a 6-storey tactical firefighting facility, a building with welfare and classroom facilities and a new access road to the site from the Dungannon Road, is staging the event in partnership with Mid Ulster District Council.
Businesses will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from Henry Bros, discuss the opportunities to form part of the contract supply chain and register their interest in the project. Businesses interested in attending the Meet the Buyer event, don’t need to register in advance, just call into the ‘drop in clinic’ between 12noon and 7pm.
Harry Henry, Contracts Director at Henry Brothers, is delighted to be supporting NIFRS on this new project:
“We look forward to developing links with lots of great local suppliers and sub-contractors to deliver this exciting opportunity for the community.”
