Is your business ready to tender or do you need help to get started? This week sees the new Mid Ulster Tender Ready Programme open for applications.
Designed to provide expert support to 130 growth oriented micro and small businesses from Mid Ulster, it will help successful applicants to identify ‘live’ tender opportunities and provide ‘hands-on’ support in the preparation of tenders, helping them to compete more effectively for public and private sector contracts.
The project is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth and Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-20) Programme and Mid Ulster District Council.
The Council recently commissioned consultants Global Education (NI) Ltd (GEL) to deliver the programme over the next three-and-a-half years.
Councillor Martin Kearney, Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, welcomed the launch of the Tender Ready programme. “The Mid Ulster Tender Ready Programme offers our local businesses a fantastic opportunity to participate on a tested model designed to help them source, secure, and win new work opportunities.
“Ambitious targets have been set for this programme including the creation of up to 195 new jobs and securing £5M worth of new contracts. It will undoubtedly give businesses a competitive advantage so I would encourage any business interested to make contact with GEL or the Council.
“I would also like to thank our co-funders, the European Regional Development Fund and Invest NI for their assistance in bringing this Programme to fruition.”
GEL Director Janis Simpson-Mahoney said at the launch, ‘”GEL is delighted to be the delivery agent for the Tender Ready Programme, which is orientated towards delivering the practical assistance a business requires with regard to tendering and meeting that through tailored procurement support. This may range from assisting the business to source new opportunities to completing tenders and mobilising new Contracts.
