The Drumcoo Recycling Centre in Dungannon is to undergo a £500K refurbishment.
The centre, located on the Coalisland Road in the town and operated by Mid Ulster District Council, will close from Saturday 6 June until December to allow new recycling facilities and a new traffic flow system to be created.
“Drumcoo is a very busy site and without this essential work to modernise the facilities and allow a smooth and safe flow of traffic, it would not be fit for purpose for very much longer,” said Councillor Christine McFlynn, Chair of the Council’s Environment Committee. “We know the temporary closure will be an inconvenience to regular customers and would ask for patience and understanding while we make the improvements, and would also encourage local people to use facilities in their nearest towns and villages”.
While the Drumcoo centre is closed, customers are asked to use the recycling centres at Coalisland (Derry Road, please note this is only suitable for cars and cars with trailers), Cookstown (Molesworth Road) and at Tullyvar (Tullyvar Road, Aughnacloy).
