Over 3,000 people got on board the Play Bus this Bank Holiday Monday at Picnic in the Park, as record crowds attended the free family fun day!
Activities at the free fun day organised by Mid Ulster District Council included: live music from local musicians The Bellas; Belfast Play Bus; Jump, Jiggle and Jive; trailer trampolines; inflatable infinity tower; krazy karts; climbing tower; Go Fly your kite workshop; face painting; balloon modelling; puppet shows; magic shows; and much more.
And all this could be enjoyed while guests tucked into their picnics at the picturesque location overlooking the water. Food was also available on site for those who had opted not to bring their own picnic.
The event, which marks the end of the summer holidays, certainly managed to banish those back-to-school blues - even just for one day!
To ease into the autumn term, families with younger children have one last chance to get out and about as Maghera Walled Garden plays host to ‘Peter’s Tales and Trails’ on Saturday 8th September from 11am – 4pm (free entry).
