Get crafty at the Bridewell, Magherafelt!

Try your hand at something new this year and come along to one of the new craft workshops taking place at the Bridewell, Magherafelt!

The four new workshops cater for both adults and children and will run from mid-February to the end of April.

Kicking off the new series of workshops is Floral Art which will take place over 5 weeks commencing on Thursday 15th February. The workshop, which is suitable for 16 years and over, will run from 6pm-7.30pm and the cost is £70 (including flowers and materials.) During the 5 weeks you will learn the art of flower arranging techniques under the expert guidance of florist Sinead Goodwin.

Give a small piece of furniture a brand new life in just 1 day at the Furniture Upcycling workshop on Saturday 24th February. The workshop will take place from 10am-4pm and is suitable for 16 years and over. The cost is £50. The class will be delivered by Anne Warnock and Sara Vicente.

We haven’t forgotten about the kids! Bring them along to the Kids Saturday Club on Saturday 3rd March where they can enjoy a range of different activities including creating a t-shirt, bag or baseball cap, painting / printing, candle making and clay / modroc sculptures (all materials supplied). The Club, which will run for 4 weeks, will take place from 10am-12noon and is suitable for 7-11 year olds. The cost is £25.

Young aspiring writers can come be inspired at the Creative Writing workshop taking place over 4 weeks from Tuesday 10 April. The workshops, which are suitable for 11-16 year olds, run from 4pm-5.30pm and the cost is £20. Using a series of structured exercises, participants will be guided by professional creative writer, Maura Johnston, to refine their skills and shape a unique writing style.
