You’re Invited to the First New Business Showcase Event in Mid Ulster

08 March 2019

Have you ever thought about starting your own business?

On Tuesday 19th March, Mid Ulster District Council is hosting an event to give aspiring local entrepreneurs the chance to meet the successful new business owners of Mid Ulster, and hear about the support on offer for anyone considering self-employment.

The event will take place in the Burnavon Theatre, Cookstown on Tuesday 19 March 2019, from 3pm – 8pm. The first of its kind in Mid Ulster, it has been organised by the Council in conjunction with local enterprise partners in Cookstown, Dungannon and Magherafelt.

In addition to profiling the free start up support available from the Go For It Programme, the event will also offer members of the public a one-off opportunity to visit the business stands and take advantage of the special offers available on the day, by over 20 of Mid Ulster’s new businesses.

Go For It is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) Programme and the local Councils.

The Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Sean McPeake said:

“This event offers a fantastic opportunity for anyone considering self-employment, to hear about the support available and to hear first-hand from the people who have already taken that step and are now running their own business.

“I would also encourage everyone to call in to meet the people behind Mid Ulster’s business success stories, and to take advantage of the special offers available on the day. You will also have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win an iPad and a range of gifts provided from our business participants.”

Business Advisors who deliver the Go For It programme will be on hand to provide advice and guidance, along with other agencies involved in helping new businesses get started, such as the Enterprise NI Loan Fund, representatives from local banks and credit unions and the local Colleges.

Anyone attending who signs up on the day for support from Go For It and proceeds to get a plan will also have the opportunity to win an iPad.
