Boasting the darkest sky in the heart of Northern Ireland, you can spend the evening at the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains, by the edge of Davagh Forest and Beaghmore Stone Circles.

The Stars and Stones Experience invites you to step back in time and learn about the ancient stones, our first observatory here. You’ll enjoy a guided exhibition tour beginning at OM Dark Sky Observatory where you will learn about the sky and it’s connection with the Stone circles at Beaghmore. You will learn the basics of the night sky and also have an opportunity to enjoy some solar viewing.

You will then walk the 3.4km Solar Walk to Beaghmore Stone Circles where we will learn about the fascinating history and significance of the stones told through the stories of those who once lived and walked these lands. Meeting Point: 5.30pm at The Burnavon, Cookstown for coach pick up. Free parking is available beside the Burnavon. Return coach transfer from the Burnavon to Beaghmore Stone Circles provided.

Price £25pp includes coach, tour and refreshments. Booking essential.

This is a walking tour. Appropriate flat shoes are required i.e trainers, walking shoes etc. Rain coat may be needed- weather dependent.

OM Dark sky Park and Observatory is fully accessible via lift. Walking tour is by foot - walk to Beaghmore circles is via boardwalk and grass pathways.
