Positive Ageing Month 2021


Throughout October, Positive Ageing Month will celebrate the contribution that Mid Ulster’s older citizens make to their local communities. With a mix of events to enable older people to connect, both virtually through online sessions and physically where possible within COVID-19 guidelines taking place, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

So, what is WhatsApp? If you haven't used this social media app before, then now is the time to find out! Join in for Part 1 to see what's involved, including some of the more advanced features such as groups and photo messages. Part 2 covers privacy. On social media it's important you know your information is protected. This session covers privacy and security settings and gives you helpful tips on how to stay safe using the app.

Roving Chef Alex from Vegetarian For Life will be joining us to give a cookery demonstration and host a cook-a-long. Chef Alex will be making Courgette Greek Fritters, Iman Biyaldi and Cranachan in the first session and Borlotti Bean Chesnut Stew followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding in the second session. Dementia Friendly Communities Awareness Workshop

A short awareness talk for anyone who wants to understand more about what it is like to live with dementia, or care for someone living with dementia.
