Council Supports Plea for Equitable Global Distribution of COVID-19 Vaccine
Mid Ulster District Council is joining Monaghan County Council and local authorities across the island of Ireland, to support the World Health Organisation’s plea for the equitable global distribution of all vaccines, treatments and therapies, developed to combat the coronavirus scourge.
Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Cathal Mallaghan said:
The vaccination programme is progressing well here with over one million vaccines received by our population so far. This has made a huge difference to our sense of confidence, allowing so many of our residents to take a step closer to normality again. However many people around the world are not so lucky. 130 countries still have no vaccination programme and so we must do what we can to try and address this global crisis. Please go online to sign the EU hosted petition, which will help bring vaccine equality to all countries around the world.
