Thousands make a welcome comeback to this year’s Lumarina!

Over 8,000 people attended this year’s Lumarina which took place at Ballyronan on Saturday night (20 August) – the largest number ever to attend the event!

The free event, organised by Mid Ulster District Council saw the Council ‘Light Up the Lough’ with beautiful illuminations, stunning fire performances and a spectacular fireworks display.

As well as this there was plenty to entertain the whole family including a fun fair, arts and crafts workshops, magic shows, and street circus performances.

Many of the businesses in the village participated in the event by extending their opening hours to provide lots of tasty treats and meals to those who had attended.

It was a welcome return for the popular event, last held pre-pandemic and was the first time a large event had been held on the site which has been significantly redeveloped this year, creating an engaging and enhanced visitor experience. The new on-water glamping pods, viewing point and Play Park are leading to the Marina gaining a reputation as a popular tourist attraction within the Mid Ulster area.
