Caravan and Camping Bookings Open for 2022 Season

January is traditionally the time of year when people start planning their holidays, and in 2022, it looks like the staycation is here to stay, as more and more people investigate holidays at home.

Mid Ulster has a wealth of natural beauty spots and accommodation from which to explore them. This week sees the opening of bookings for three of the area’s main camping and caravanning sites at Ballyronan Marina, Dungannon Park and Round Lake in Fivemiletown.

Whether it’s a long weekend or a mid-week getaway, caravanning and camping offer a way to get away when it suits you, and this year, holiday makers can take advantage of new developments at two of the sites operated by Mid Ulster District Council.

Ballyronan Marina has been extensively redeveloped with a stunning viewing platform extending out from the Lough Neagh shore, a new children’s all-inclusive play area, extended parking and a Changing Places facility now on site. Later in the year, for the first time visitors will also be able to book a stay in one of four new on-water glamping pods when they open for booking in the spring.

Round Lake Camping and Caravanning Park in Fivemiletown has also been redeveloped with a major revamp of the existing visitor building to include improved common spaces, shower facilities and a new Changing Places facility, as well as improvements to the walking trails and children’s play area which make the most of this tranquil and peaceful location.
