Thousands attend this year’s Lumarina!

Nearly eight thousand people attended this year’s Lumarina with the Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Martin kearney at Ballyronan over the weekend.

The free 2-day event, organised by the Council took place at Ballyronan Marina on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th August.

The Friday night saw the Council ‘Light Up the Lough’ with stunning fire performances and a spectacular fireworks display. As well as this there was plenty of entertainment for the whole family including a funfair, climbing wall, bumper cars, swings and food stalls.

The fun continued on Saturday afternoon with a selection of free fun activities including face painting, balloon modelling, Go Fly Your Kite workshops, circus performances from Babcock and Bobbins and paddle boats.

The Council’s schedule of summer events continues over the next few weeks with Pirates and Princesses at Maghera Walled Garden taking place in Maghera on Saturday 24th August from 11am – 4pm, and the final Play Near Me Summer Roadshow at Tobermore playing fields on Saturday 31st August from 2pm – 5pm.
