Recycle, Refresh, Renewed

Recycle your appliances to reduce waste and help the community.

The Recycle, Refresh, Renewed scheme which will see old, large electrical appliances such as cookers, hobs, ovens, washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers, repaired, refurbished and then resold.

The following items are suitable for reuse under the scheme, we accept:

  • Washing machines

  • Tumble dryers

  • Dishwashers

  • Electric cookers

  • Ovens and hobs

How it works:
Take your large appliances to any of our Household Recycling Centres, where Refresh Appliances Ltd, will collect them and begin the refurbishment process before they are offered for resale.

Watch our YouTube Video to find out how the scheme works.

The scheme is currently operating at three of the Council’s Household Waste Recycling Centres in Magherafelt, Maghera and Castledawson – with plans to extend the scheme to all other sites in the new year (except for Ballymacombs which doesn’t accept electrical items).
