Ballinderry River

The Ballinderry River leaves the Sperrins to begin a 30 mile journey, flowing through Cookstown, Coagh and Ballinderry Bridge, before reaching its journey’s end on the western shore of Lough Neagh.

It is a renowned trout river and in recent years has enjoyed good salmon runs. Please visit Ballinderry River Trust’s website for details on licencing and permits. The game fishing season on the Ballinderry River runs from 1st March to 31st October.

Ballinderry River is also an ungraded river for Canoe and Kayaking purposes, however, the Ballinderry Trust are working with experienced Canoeing professionals to update information on canoeing and kayaking on the Ballinderry river. There are Canoe steps located at Ardtrea, between Cookstown and Coagh
