Lough Beg

Lough Beg is a small freshwater lake north of Lough Neagh. The Lower Bann flows into it from Lough Neagh at the southern end and continues on its route to the sea from the northern end.

Church Island is a small island in Lough Beg, Bellaghy, accessible when water levels are low.

Surrounding lands are famous in their own right as they are wetlands, home to many different species including ducks, geese, swans and a rare orchid, “My Lady’s Tresses”.
