Mid Ulster events to ‘Inspire Inclusion’ for International Women’s Day

Everyone in Mid Ulster is being urged to mark International Women’s Day on Wednesday 6 March and Wednesday 13 March, by supporting the theme of ‘inspire inclusion’.

Mid Ulster District Council has proudly supported this annual international campaign by organising a series of events to celebrate the achievements of inspirational women who are making a major impact in the world of business, community and all areas of society.

The Council will hold two events to support this year’s International Women’s Day and its important theme of inspire inclusion. All money raised will go to Causeway and Mid Ulster Women’s Aid.

The first event takes place on Wednesday 6 March at the Royal Hotel, Cookstown when Lynda Bryans and Jade Bradley will take to the stage along with Carol Doey, MC for the night.

Lynda is a Journalist and Course Director at Belfast Metropolitan College. Lynda will give an insight into her success and demonstrate how the audience can empower themselves through inclusion, mindset and personal development. Jade is a Burnout Recovery Specialist, Nutritionist and Health Coach and will enlighten the audience with fitness, health and nutrition tips.

The second event will be held in the Ryandale Inn, Moy on Wednesday 13 March, also with Carol Doey as MC and guest speakers, Vivian McKinnon and Tara Grimes.

Vivian is an Award-Winning Public Speaker and Post Traumatic Growth Specialist and will discuss her success in business, as well as demonstrate how the audience can empower themselves through inclusion, mindset and personal development. Tara, who is a Nutritionist and accredited Personal Trainer, will tackle lifestyle, fitness and nutrition.

A representative from Causeway and Mid Ulster Women’s Aid, will also speak at the events, and highlight the significant challenges facing the charity with growing numbers of women coming forward for help.

Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Dominic Molloy commented on the upcoming events:

As chair of the council, I am pleased to see that we are able to offer two inspiring events with top class speakers, to mark this year’s International Women’s Day.
The theme of this year’s campaign is ‘inspire inclusion’, which encourages us all to push for a world free of bias, inequality and discrimination. As not only an elected representative for Mid Ulster, but also a husband and father, I proudly recognise the strength, resilience, and achievements of women across our district and beyond.
It is important that we acknowledge the invaluable contributions of women in shaping our communities and where we live. Together, as we celebrate International Women’s Day, let's strive for a future where every woman and girl can thrive, unhindered by discrimination or barriers.
I know the women, and people of Mid Ulster will get behind these two events to help raise much-needed funds for Causeway and Mid Ulster Women’s Aid, a charity that provides essential help and advice for the most vulnerable women and families in our community.

Tickets for these two highly anticipated events, are priced at £5 each, and can be booked online. Both events commence at 6.45pm with a drinks reception, with speakers taking to the stage at 7.15pm and ending the evening with a light supper. All attendees will receive a free goodie bag.

For those who are unable to attend the events in Mid Ulster, you can still play your part by visiting the International Women's Day website where you will find details of how you can get involved.
