Mid Ulster LMP launches Employability Programme

The Mid Ulster Labour Market Partnership (LMP) has launched its Employability programme.

The Mid Ulster LMP Employability Programme returns for a second year. It is a FREE innovative programme tailored to those who are furthest removed from the labour market, whilst also meeting local industry needs for skilled labour within Mid Ulster.

Labour Market Partnerships, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas, are funded by the Department for Communities, and allow for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.

Support will be given on a bespoke individual basis to successful applicants to maximise employment outcomes and match job roles available. Participants will benefit from one-to-one mentoring, personal employability development plans, CV writing & mock interviews and get to choose from a wide variety of accredited courses, depending on personal need and requirements for employment opportunity.  On completion of the programmes, applicants are guaranteed an interview and can avail of continued mentorship for 6 months after employment.

Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Frances Burton is encouraging residents to take advantage of this Employability programme. She said:

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone currently out of work, uncertain about their next steps, or struggling to re-enter the workforce. I would encourage people to reach out to Network Personnel and take advantage of the support, mentoring, training and advice available within this programme to help them move forward. It’s a real chance to build confidence and take positive steps toward long-term employment.

Chair of the Mid Ulster Labour Market Partnership, Damian Power, added: "We are proud to see the return of the Employability Programme for a second year - a proven initiative that makes a real difference to people’s lives. This programme is about breaking down barriers, building skills, and connecting individuals with meaningful opportunities in our local economy. With tailored support, accredited training, and a guaranteed job interview, it offers a clear and supported pathway back into work. We are committed to helping more people in Mid Ulster reach their potential and contribute to a thriving workforce."
