Celebrate Business and Environmental Champions in Mid Ulster
Mid Ulster District Council is calling for nominations for the Business and Environment Awards 2026, celebrating the outstanding contributions of businesses, organisations, and individuals who are driving positive change across the district.
Organised by Mid Ulster District Council, the awards aim to recognise and celebrate those who strengthen the local economy and champion environmental responsibility. The awards will highlight the exceptional performance, innovation, and leadership of businesses and individuals who are making a tangible impact on the economy and the environment in Mid Ulster.
The winners will be announced at the Business and Environment Awards 2026 ceremony, taking place at Burnavon, Cookstown, on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
Speaking at the launch, Chair of the Council, Councillor Frances Burton, said:
"The Business and Environment Awards 2026 provide an important opportunity to celebrate the innovation, hard work and commitment that define Mid Ulster’s business community. Our local organisations and individuals play a vital role not only in sustaining economic growth but also in protecting and enhancing our environment. These awards recognise those who are leading by example and driving positive change across the district. I encourage everyone to take part by nominating those businesses, groups, and individuals whose achievements and dedication truly deserve to be celebrated."
Nominations will feature a variety of categories, recognising a wide range of businesses, organisations, and individuals, and include: Best Small Business Award; Best Medium Business Award; Best Large Business Award; Best Independent Retailer / Service Award; Apprentice of the Year Award; Employer of Choice Award (Additional Eligibility Criteria); Best Social Enterprise Award; Rising Star Award; Mid Ulster Climate Champion(s); Net Zero Project of the Year; Environmental Education & Engagement Award; and Excellence in Resource Management Award.
An independent panel will judge nominees for each category, and winners will be selected based on their exceptional achievements, innovation, and contribution to economic growth and environmental responsibility.
Nominations must be received by 12 noon on Thursday, 15 January 2026 via www.midulstercouncil.org/awards. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
