‘Taste Mid Ulster’ at Draperstown Market

An exciting event of food and entertainment will take over Draperstown on Saturday, 2 August, with the arrival of the ‘Taste Mid Ulster’ food market.

Organised by Mid Ulster District Council, the market will showcase the very best of the region’s food, produce, and crafts. Visitors can look forward to exclusive foodie experiences, chef demonstrations focused on local ingredients, and a wide variety of artisan crafts—all free to attend.

The market will feature over 20 stalls from well-known local producers, including Sperrin Bakery, Dart Cheese, Fluffy Meringue, Cook with Norah, Bakeaway Killycolpy, Woodlab Distillery, Solas Bath Body Home, Annie’s Delights, Lough Neagh Fisheries Co-Operative, and Betty's Ice Cream—to name just a few.

In addition to the market, live stage performances will take place throughout the day featuring local bands and artists.
Culinary enthusiasts can enjoy cookery demonstrations by Celebrity Chef Noel McMeel, Norah Brown MBE, and Joanna Neeson of Wyse Bites. Meanwhile, younger visitors will be kept entertained with face painting, balloon modelling, and a host of walkabout characters.

Speaking about the Taste Mid Ulster market, Chair of the Council, Councillor Frances Burton, said:
“We’re incredibly fortunate here in Mid Ulster to be part of such a dynamic community when it comes to local food, produce, and artisan crafts. The Taste Mid Ulster market in Draperstown is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the richness and variety of what our district has to offer—not just for our producers, but for everyone who visits and gets to take home something special and high-quality.
This market is more than just a shopping experience; it’s a celebration of the agricultural heritage and culinary skills that define our region. As Chair of the Council, I warmly invite you to come along, explore the stalls, enjoy the delicious scents, and meet the dedicated people behind these incredible local products.

By choosing to support this market, you’re not only bringing the best local food into your home—you’re also helping to boost our local economy, shop local and back the businesses that make Mid Ulster thrive. Together, we can build a healthier, more sustainable future for everyone in our district.”
