Mid Ulster District Council Celebrates Business and Environmental Excellence at Prestigious Awards Ceremony

Mid Ulster District Council hosted a remarkable evening celebrating the outstanding achievements of local businesses, organisations, and individuals at the Mid Ulster Business & Environment Awards 2026 last night at Burnavon Theatre in Cookstown.

The awards recognise businesses and organisations across the Mid Ulster district that are driving economic growth while championing sustainability, community engagement, and innovation over the past year.

Hosted by Local Personality Lynette Faye and Council Chair, Councillor Frances Burton, the event drew over 300 attendees from across the district, making it a truly memorable and inspiring evening!

The Business & Environment Awards ceremony honoured excellence across twelve diverse categories, and the winners on the night were:

Best Small Business Award: Rep-Tec
Best Medium Business Award: Western Building Systems
Best Large Business Award: Mallaghan Engineering
Best Independent Retailer / Service Award: Begley's Sports
Apprentice of the Year Award: Daniel Evans from EDEN Fabrications
Employer of Choice Award: Uform
Best Social Enterprise Award: Superstars Club
Rising Star Award: Michael Owens from Maneely & Co Ltd
Mid Ulster Climate Champion Award: H&A Group
Net Zero Project of the Year: Mallon Technology
Environmental Education & Engagement Award: St Colm’s High School, Draperstown
Excellence in Resource Management Award: O&S Doors Ltd
 
Chair of the Council, Councillor Frances Burton, presented the winners with their trophies on the night and said:

We are immensely proud to host the Mid Ulster Business & Environment Awards this evening in the fabulous surroundings of The Burnavon Theatre, recognising the remarkable achievements and contributions of our local businesses and organisations.

It is a night dedicated to celebrating the incredible innovation, sustainability, and dedication that make Mid Ulster such a vibrant and inspiring place to live and work. These awards serve as a testament to the hard work, ambition, and forward-thinking practices of so many, and to the impact that responsible business and environmental leadership have on our communities.
