Cookstown Leisure Centre Health Suite Due for Revamp
Cookstown Leisure Centre’s health suite will close to the public from Monday 9 February 2026 for a period of six weeks to allow for essential refurbishment and maintenance works. The health suite is scheduled to reopen on Saturday 21 March 2026.
The planned improvement programme will include the installation of a new sauna and steam room, upgrades to external façades and lighting, and spa pool enhancements, including new pipework, improved drainage, and relocation of emergency alarms to a more suitable location.
During the closure, all health suite sessions will be cancelled. However, members — including household membership holders — will be able to access alternative Council leisure facilities in Dungannon, Magherafelt, and Maghera at no additional cost.
Customers will be kept informed through social media updates, in-centre communications, direct member notifications, and advance on-site signage.
This temporary closure is a proactive step to ensure the long-term quality, safety, and reliability of the health suite facilities.
