Mid Ulster secures recycling top spot for 2024/25!
Residents in Mid Ulster have proven that ‘Mid Ulster Recycles’ by securing the position at the top of the recycling table for 2024/25.
Official annual recycling rates just released for 2024/25 show that Mid Ulster achieved the highest household recycling rate of all 11 councils here with 59.3%.
Chair of Mid Ulster District Council’s Environment Committee, Councillor Christine McFlynn, applauded this result:
I welcome and applaud the news that Mid Ulster District Council has achieved the highest household recycling rate of all 11 councils here for 2024/25, with an outstanding rate of 59.3%. This is a significant achievement and a real testament to the commitment of our residents, the dedication of our staff, and the effectiveness of our recycling services. This fantastic achievement demonstrates that when communities and councils work together, we can deliver real environmental benefits. As Chair of the Environment Committee, I want to thank everyone involved and reaffirm our commitment to building on this success as we continue to reduce waste and protect our environment for future generations.
