Enjoy More for Less This Summer at Mid Ulster Council Venues
Visitors to a range of venues operated by Mid Ulster District Council can enjoy reduced admission prices on selected activities this summer as part of the UK Government’s VAT Savings scheme.
From 25 June to 01 September 2026, admission charges will be lowered on selected activities, reflecting a temporary reduction in VAT from 20% to 5% on eligible services. The initiative is designed to help ease the cost of living for households while encouraging more people to explore and enjoy local attractions.
Chair of the Council, Councillor Deirdre Varsani, said:
We are delighted to implement the scheme where possible by offering reduced admission on a range of activities across our Council facilities this summer. We know how important it is for families and our young people to enjoy quality leisure, culture and heritage opportunities across the district, particularly during the school holidays, and this initiative will help make our facilities more accessible and affordable. We encourage everyone to take advantage of these great value offers and enjoy everything our venues have to offer.
From 25 June to 1 September, a number of Council-run venues and activities are included in the scheme, including:

Leisure sites are reducing the price of soft play sessions to the public from £3.60 to £3.10.

OM Dark Sky Park and Observatory is offering a 5% discount on children’s admissions and tours.

Savings on tickets for children’s activities at Pomeroy Forest Park, including magic shows, live storytelling and puppet shows,

Hill of The O’Neill & Ranfurly House, Dungannon is offering reductions on family and children’s admissions for tours as well as reduced children’s admissions to the Ulster Orchestra and Much Ado About Nothing performances taking place over the summer.

Tourism is reducing the price of children’s tickets to the Hidden Heritage Tour in Magherafelt on 25 July 2026 from £25 to £20.
