Mid Ulster Employer Toolkit launched to support businesses
The Mid Ulster Labour Market Partnership (LMP) has officially launched the enhanced Mid Ulster Employer Toolkit, an online resource designed to support local businesses in attracting, developing and retaining employees.
The Toolkit was unveiled at the Mid Ulster LMP’s flagship employer event, Becoming, Being, Beyond: Evolving as an Employer of Choice in Mid Ulster, which brought together more than 90 businesses, HR professionals, business leaders and support organisations at the Glenavon House Hotel, Cookstown last month.
The event provided an opportunity for employers to explore the challenges and opportunities facing today’s labour market and consider practical approaches to strengthening their position as employers of choice.
Funded by the Department for Communities, LMPs create targeted employment action plans for council areas, allowing for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.
Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Deirdre Varsani, welcomed the continued commitment from the local business community to workforce development saying:
With unemployment and economic inactivity levels remaining low across Mid Ulster, businesses are increasingly competing for talent. It was encouraging to see so many employers come together to share experiences, explore solutions and demonstrate their commitment to investing in people and building sustainable workforces for the future.
Chair of the Mid Ulster Labour Market Partnership, Anthony Quinn, said:
"The strong engagement from employers highlights the importance businesses place on workforce development and planning for the future. By working collaboratively and embracing new approaches to attracting and developing talent, businesses can ensure they remain competitive and continue to thrive."
The Mid Ulster Employer Toolkit provides employers with practical guidance, information and resources to support recruitment, workforce planning, employee development and retention. The online resource is now available to businesses across the district.
